i was really looking forward to this game, but my christ on first impressions its awful

everything about the game feels so halfarsed

second time round completed by using only triangle button

Ah the soul calibur/edge series , great games , but they have always been weak single player games , always...

The fun with these is getting a gang of mates over , a few beers , and winner stays on Vs games ....a session which can easily run into the next day ...

I'll be buying it anyway , as I imagine , will many many others.

I personally like it. Character creation is pretty kewl and the Tower of Lost Souls (or however its called :P is pretty nice as well). Then again its a single player game i'd play no longer then 20-30 min. And as mathias said single player was never really great in soul calibur series, having some real person to play with makes it much better

Way too fast and too small for most of the attacks to hit em.

The dreamcast version is much better imo. I just can't get into this game at all.

Spend some time in the training mode and learn the characters moves , and hes easily beaten.

Kilik and Ivy are two characters with very impressive low level signature attacks that wipe the floor with him.

Vader is slow but if you take time to master him he is actually fairly effective.

the most used character i have come across online is kilik...if you know his moves he is basically unstoppable...online aint going well for me though only have like 12 wins 17loses but i suppose i lost to 2 lvl 42 but near had them they just beat me by a inch of health!

Played this last night with a bunch of mates around. Vader feels wrong wrong wrong to be in the game and made me feel a bit dirty that he's been rammed into the game as a marketing exploit and to hell with the back-story and distinctive universe of original characters. Fnck it, lets stick Barbie in the next one to target the pre-teen female market segment.
He also seems to be kinda poor/slow but with a big cheesy force blast.

On to the game. I cant see how anyone doesnt know what to expect with a SC game. And thats exactly what you get, a SC game. This is the same game I've been buying for a decade, just on a new system. Except that the graphics are better I simply couldnt have told you if it was 3 or 4. I mostly play kilik when I am serious and it seems very much like the old Kilik. Single player is laughable, even in 3 there was a sort of castle's based roleplaying bit to it, this time they seem to have completely abandoned any pretence of SP. Who cares, the game is meant for beating your mates into a pulp.

This is one of those games you kinda have to have to compliment your collection. Its for playing with mates when you want a mindless bash-about. It delivers on that well so you get what you should be expecting. After that, everything else is a distraction.
