    Hi!

I've just bought my first GHD - just want to know if you'd recommend the GHD syling products (they seem rather pricey!). And if so, which ones?

I've got poker straight hair, and would like to be able to get a soft wavy curly style ... somehow! :pac:

    Thanks!

    Hey,

I've never used the GHD products so can't comment on them.

It may be difficult for me to explain how to do the curls without actually showing you but I'll try!

Divide your hair into sections. I usually clip most of it up and take it one section at a time.

The section should be about an inch wide and not too thick.

Starting near the root, twist the ghd around your hair once and straighten right down to the tip then curl back up and hold for about 5 seconds.

Don't pull the ghd out, gently uncurl it. Continue this process all over your hair.

I hope that made sense. It's very easy once you get the technique right. it used to take me ages now I can curl my hair in about 15-20 minutes and I have long thick hair!!

Good luck...curls are beautiful. I hate having straight hair!!

I've never used the products either, I'd say don't bother. I've got straight hair and use straighteners to flick or curl my hair, you don't need any GHD products, so don't waste your money.

i agree with the last poster, you dont need the products, the ghd will curl it for you either way. it might be advisable to buy yourself a good heat spray to protect your hair from the heat. and to get tips on ghd curling tecniques try the how to section on you tube.

If you want to curl your hair and have long hair, then the curls will come out easily. Do small sections at a time and invest in a good hair spray to keep them in place!

All you need really is some super strong hold hairspray. I've only ever heard bad stuff about the GHD stying stuff

I got the range of GHD products with my straightener and I didn't think much of them. The shampoo and conditioner left my hair looking dul, the heat protector spray was more like a hairspray and just made my hair stiff and hard, there was some sort of obedience cream that was ok and the hairspray was good, but any firm hairspray should work, I wouldn't waste my money tbh.
