Not sure if this has been posted before, but check out the Benchmark fuel card. You can use it at any Statoil (now Topaz).

Cost is 127.5 at any Topaz station for petrol, and 139.9 for diesel. It changes every week , and is usually fairly good.

My local Texaco is cheaper than that!

    Stick with Tesco tbh.

    Maybe, but check out www.pumps.ie.

The national average for petrol is 130.9. So its a valid bargain.

As far as I can see many of the prices there haven't been updated since June so it's a bit pointless tbh.

Fair enough. From my driving in the past week or two, most of the prices I'm seeing are around the 132-133 mark. So the fuel card makes sense to me. Check out this thread for some recent prices around Limerick.

Newlands Cross in the morning 1.419 for diesel.
Sounds like a bargain to me and my boss will love that, because he pays all my fuel :-)

I have one of these....sometimes it saves money and sometimes its more expensive.

I filled up for 124.9 at texaco near the spawell the other day which is cheaper than the benchmark price.

True. You have to keep an eye on the updated price once a week.

This card used to save me some money. but rarely now.

Their website is not updated properly haf the time either. Because of this, you think you;re getting cheap petrol but you're not and end up missing cheaper petrol at other garages.

Not a bargain anymore at all

I update it all the time. The site is crap if you no one updates it. Try putting in some prices yourself, only takes a minute to register.

Since Topaz emerged, the old Shell and Statoil are the most expensive garages around for Petrol or diesel in most instances. Everywhere you see them they seem to be 4/5c per litre more than Esso or Texaco. I have seen this between Cork and Limerick, Galway, cross country from there to Dublin, Cork to Waterford and Rosslare. Cork to Dublin road they are normally far more expensive too, with a few remote exceptions.

The prices they show on their website are cut by most garages around, again apart from the isolated ones. Better value keeping your eyes peeled while driving around and fill where its cheapest at the time. Might help you a bit if you're driving in Limerick, as the prices there are astronomical.

Seems to be the same company behind them all just trading under different names.
There is an offer of piggypoints free if you sign up for that one Here
Looks like a good deal if you normally get your fuel in a Statoil or Shell station. The only thing i can see to be careful of is that if there is not enough money in the account when they try to debit it they will charge an administration fee of 40 euro plus the amount outstanding before they reactivate the card. Saw that on the Benchmark site but its probably the same for all of them.

You don't even need to register to update prices! Registration gets you extra features though.

Perhaps I just travel in expensive areas:p

I frequently driving in Limerick/Galway/Roscommon, and almost never see cheapr prices than the fuel card.

Not the case for the link I posted, the petrol is on credit and billed monthly.
From the T&C on the website Here under Accounts
    wrote:
"If a direct debit drawn by FCS on the Account Holders accounts is returned unpaid or a cheque sent by the Account Holder to FCS is returned unpaid then the Account Holder shall pay FCS an administration fee each time it occurs."
It doesnt say how much though.

So do you pay 125.96 as your text says or 127.50 like it says on their website?
More to the point, have people been paying more than they thought going back over the year.

Signed up for the text alerts at a cost of 10 euro, never got the texts, paypal were not interested as it not for tangable goods:(

However I find the card good value because petrol is dear where I live and occasionally while traveling I got petrol at a statoil station cheaper than the rate and I got it for the cheaper ammount. (The Axa Plus Card)

There are problems when you use it in a non-statoil station as they sometimes look for a pin that you don't have.

Thumbs up, I have used it exclusively for my petrol purchases for the past year.
