MMDS Polarity

    Hi, Can anyone tell me if our MMDS suppliers transmit on H or V polarity. Many thanks PodgeW:rolleyes:

    Either vertical or horizontal polaristions are used, depending on the location and coverage of the cell transmitter.

    we used vertical for digital signal. Horizontal for annologue signal

    depends on if your aerial is pointing at one of the main broadcasting sites (usually horizontal) or a beam bender/repeater (vertical). You can tell by looking at aerials in your area.
    Of course that leads to the whole legal issue of putting up your own mmds aerial :(

    For Ashbourne and probably Swords, polarisation is vertical. From the MMDS site near The Naul.

    Main sites are vertical too. There's not enough frequencies for MMDS so they have to use different polarities to minimise co-channel interference.

    It's illegal to provide your own MMDS. It's a wireless Cable Pay TV only system. UPC (Chorus/NTL) will be happy to install it.
