Pretty much all wireless equipment I have ever used runs somewhat warm if its plugged in all the time. Do you switch it off when you're not using it?

not really, as I plan to set up remote connection to it!

Another concern is the rubber foot does not seem to keep it that chilled.......... key issue is I have saved all my mp3 and movies to it and if the bugger fails!!

(in case anyone is wondering Alias Folders work a dream with Time Capsule and Front ROw :-)

I don't have a Time Capsule but the Airport Extreme does get quite hot too over time - I would imagine the TC gets even hotter with the HDD in there.

On another note, trust me, it's a bad idea to have any data you're really worried about in only one location. That is one of the key failings of the TC for me and one of the reasons why I use a Windows Home Server (the only Windows system I have left!). Even though nowhere near as easy to use with a Mac as I imagine the TC is, anything really important to me is duplicated to two drives automatically, at all times.
