    Hello, I am new to everything photography and am looking to buy a camera that will be used regularly for family photos and as a hobby. I like the look and feel of SLRs but are very expensive. So I was thinking either this fuji or this (the cheapest SLR).

    I will spend no more than €400, so the internet is probably best. I checked ebay but dabs seems to be better. What do you think?

    sony is better of two, dont use one but hear they is rther good for how much they are, nice chep back catalog too i believe of great lens

    The Fuji is a brilliant camera too though!

    Would there be much of a difference in quality? Between SLR and the fuji?

    You'll get yourself a 350D Canon SLR for < than the €300 mark if you persist with ebay and adverts.ie

    The amount of lenses available to Canon far exceeds sony so in the long run will be much more upgradeable. The 350D is an outstandning starter camera if you cant afford the latest model 450D.

    i bought the A200 from pixmania a couple of weeks ago and thing it is a great camera

    yes as you get into photography more, you'll find it very restrictive andthe image quality difference will grow

    It doesn't come with a lens, but we can negotiate on price if you like. PM for more details, the mods don't like discussing sales on a non-sales thread...

    Just as a general question... is there a quality difference between having a lens and not. Will I need to buy one separately?

    It's generally good to have one. The one that I'm selling is only the body, so you would need to get a lens. You can get a good starter lens for €75, more or less...

    If its a lens for your new canon 400D you are looking for then this is your lucky day :)

    Somebody is selling the Kit Lens that normally comes with it! ;)
