tut.tut.tut....15c to listen to your voicemail.
Have to say that in itself was enough to turn me off the 086 networks years ago!

Wow did not notice that, i still make most calls to vodafone numbers bu that wasnt made too clear

THey did this a couple of months ago. But they didnt say how long it lasted. I topped up by 20 one week and lost all my credit. I rang them and they said that the offer was over. Not only that but i was on the higher tarrif.
This p!ssed me off as they also deleted all my pictures from my picture album . When i asked them why they did it. They said my pictures were old. I actually used them a week before it happened.

They done this a few months ago but was for a limited time. I was informed often by text message of when it was ending. They also got rid of the online picture album at the end of June i think for good. Got messeges about that as well

    Edit: 1000th post

Or you have the option of free messages to all networks. My own preferably choice.

Text 'text' to 50222. I think.

Meteors deal is still better but they are also guilty of the same thing.I signed up for their "free texts to any network" promotion last night and i noticed that under their old "free texts meteor to meteor" plan, texts cost 9c and calls were 25c/minute.Now, under the new offer, there 11c and 29c/minute respectively

The offer is great if you are mainly calling vodafone. I usually buy €20 credit a month and then buy 100 texts for €8 off vodafone to text other networks and use the remaining credit for calls to other numbers.

I only ever spend €20 a month which is good.

yeah leaves me with €12 for calls for the month and dont make many calls to non-vodafone numbers. If ringing a landline I ring off my own landline as have free national calls.

The texts are bought off vodafone in a bundle, details here

What they give with one hand they take back with the other.:(

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

uh... is it not €28 per month, as you're buying 100 texts too? ;)

No, I top up by €20 a month for the free calls and texts, i then use €8 out of that €20 credit to buy a text bundle of 100 texts for use on other networks. The remaining €12 credit is used for other calls.

The main people i ring though are vodafone so it suits.

Thanks for that. Changed my price plan now, just need to top up.

Yeah - have to say the meteor offer is pretty good too - think Vodafone are aiming for the vodafone -vodafone cust's and international custs too - their new offer keeps their cheap international rates, whereas meteors new plan pushes them up...

given them a shout tomorrow on the blower-1850208787 they'll more than likely top up your number by €20-thus activating your free texts again and then they'll take that 20 back off, their pretty reasonable:)

    Cheers, will do.

Effort of actually conversing with someone on the phone :(

Well, there's always the email option (care@vodafone.ie, I think) tho that'll probably take a couple days... but at least you won't have to talk to anyone, and it's generally the more advanced ones in these places that do the emails... :pac:

On my meteor plan - I can make off peak calls to any network at 13c

There is nothing such as a free lunch with mobile networks.

Be careful before signing up to the newer type plans.

29c per minute is no bargain.

Completely agree Cork, I'm on the same plan, 13c per min off-peak to any network. I notice they've removed the option to change to the old 20c Anytime Plus tariff online. But I've also an O2 phone and I'm on their 20c Flat Rate Prepay Price plan. :D
