    Reading books that are written in the first or third person, and why?
    I'm not sure why, but books written in the first person really put me off.

    I'll rarely buy one. Of course there are some serious exceptions ("Shantaram" & "The Name of the Rose", this year) but generally they go back on the shelf.

    Probably prefer 3rd person, but don't really mind as long as it's well written.

    Books written in the 2nd person, on the other hand....
