Help - my old Nokia 3120 won't charge its battery anymore....!?

basically batt died when I was in Canada, no charger, as flights back ended cancelled I needed phone and bought a multi purpose adaptor thing and plugged it in, nothing at all happened, finally found a proper Nokia charger and it wouldn't charge at all. Got back to base and still not charging with my usual charger. But the battery will charge when in another phone and my phone then works fine when I swap the battery back into my own phone.

Is this fix-able? Would be great if it was. Am about to move to UK and will be buying new phone there but would like to keep this old warhorse of a phone to keep an eye on my Irish texts etc as I'm only going away for a year......
