Just wondering what picture works best in your eye. I am more inclined to go for the second one. But I’ve been messing around with lightroom over the past few days, which has lead me to going overboard on some pictures.

Whats your view. 1 or 2

I like the effect of #2, but it basically destroys any skin colour, and leaves...pure white.

I like #1 more because its got a more vibrant, happy, etc feel to it, and the vibrant colours which are lost in #2 compliment the happyness we're seeing in the pic.

Why are you only choosing one, anyway?

I was really asking in terms of guidance, as i have been working on a few photos that i took today for a friend of the family. As these are her kids i believe that she would want (as you said) the photo to be filled with colour and life which would help create a happy/fun vibe to it.
I have done a few black and white edits on the others and i feel that they will work in her eyes as they do mine, but i had a feeling that i was verging on too much of my own taste rather than hers which in turn is leading to the majority of the photos having a darker style to them and more unnecessary work for tonight. (Not that there is a deadline or anything)

    Anyway thanks for your comment.

    Both work OK.

The context of the work will decide which is better.

#1 looks like a Family Portrait whereas #2 is not natural but more suited to commercial work.

#1 for me because it shows the skin, hair and eyes in a more natural light IMO.

#1 + Sharpening. It looks blurred to me.

It seems that you have focused on her hair with a small aperture
leading to her face being out of focus.

#2 I prefer but both pics are very soft.

    Deffo much improved.
The button that is reflecting on the girl jacket in the background is
slightly distracting but maybe it adds to the picture??
