3 of us lads (circa 30yo) going to do as above from 10 August. Have booked flights and rented a car but nothing else yet.
    Some questions
    i. Will be staying in Boston for 2 nights. Any recommendations re hotel. Recs re what to do.
ii. Anyone been shopping in Boston. Is there any good outlet stores there or should I just wait for New York.
iii. We would like to go to a holiday resort area near Boston for say 5 nights. Any recommendations re this and re booking accommodation for that.
iv. Might go down to New Jersey for a few days then any recs re that.
    v. Any recommendation re hotel in New York for last 2 nights and whats good to do. Ive been there before but not Boston.

Thanks all for any help. Its all a bit rushed.

Kittery, Maine ,north of Bos. has good outlets, not far and is a nice drive.

There is also another down I95 near Foxboro' will post later if I remember the name.

Wrentham is the place you are looking for.

It is 30 mins south of Boston and on the way to NY

At the risk of sounding pedantic, Wrentham is indeed south of Boston but most people drive from Boston to New York along the Mass Pike (Massachusetts Turnpike) which, confusingly, runs East-West. So, they don't go past Wrentham. Wrentham is not a big detour though, and of course you can also go to New York south on I-95 via Providence (although, as I say, this is not the fastest or preferred route).

The Wrentham outlets are much closer to Boston than the Kittery Outlets up in Maine. They are also close to Foxboro stadium if you can get tickets for a New England Patriots game (unlikely) or a New England Revolution soccer game (more likely).

But, if you make the trip up to Kittery, you are rewarded with cheap alcohol in the New Hampshire State Liquer Stores en route, and Portsmouth New Hampshire is a nice place to spend an evening and go out. On that trip, you can also make small detours to see Salem (site of the witch trials), Gloucester (featured in "The Perfect Storm") and Rockport (picture perfect New England fishing village).
