Cinema Pass

I've heard about these, know you can get them in the UK anyway. You buy the pass, then can go to the cinema as often as you like for a year. They sold on this island at all?

But if you bought the UK pass, for West End cinemas (which include any cineworld in UK & Ireland) it actually works out cheaper than the ordinary card over here

Wish I had of thought of that when getting mine

Can you buy that over here or can you only get it in England ?

Not sure, Could try putting in an Irish address and see what happens.

If you get the one without West End, it works out around 180euro, so a big saving of 60 euro.

The West End one would work out around 230 euro, so again cheaper than the normal one here.

And you can use the card anywhere etc.

Why bother getting the West End one though ? Its an extra 50 euro. It would only be worth it if you were spending more than 50 euro in West End cinemas each year, which I certainly am not!

I think I'm going to get the UK excluding West End one for 15e per month.

No reason, I've the possibility to be over and back to London so it would make sense for me, or for anyone who does something similar. (so it would be easier to use a UK address)

The savings on the normal one are big though.

Let us know what happens

Pretty glad I never got round to renewing mine so. Think I'll just pay for tickets for the next two months then get a card in England when I move into college there - didn't realise there was such a price difference.

theres a 12 month contract with the passes though

I dont think theres enough of a turnover of films over here to get good use from it

like, theres usually only 7/8 films on at the one time, and yer not gna wanna see them all

There's actually 13 currently on show, and from that list the only two I would really avoid would be Mamma Mia and Angus Thongs.

There's also 21 new releases between now and the end of August!

With the cost of movies being 10euro each, you only really need to see 3 a month to be getting value on it.

There are a huge number of films that you wouldn't get around to seeing if you had to fork over €10 every time. I go once or twice a week usually so I get to see all the big films I want as well as a lot of small films that would have passed me by otherwise. I've gone into plenty of films I knew nothing about and found them to be excellent. There is always the odd poor week, but there is normally a huge number of films out there to be seen.

It's also easier to walk out of a free movie, and just grab another free ticket to something else.
