Jobseekers Benefit and once off job - allowed?

I'm currently claiming jobseekers benifit while (unsuccessfully) looking for work. I have been asked to help out on a job on Thursday which may lead to more work. Can I accept this job and still claim jobseekers allowance, minusing the days payment or will the social welfare office take me off the dole? More work isn't guranteed after Thursday but I thought I might be able to do some networking while I'm there about other jobs.

I'm going down to the social welfare office tomorrow to discuss this with them. Just want a heads up before I go. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, provided you get a letter from the company you are working for. They should only deck you a day from your JB claim.

Went down today and the guy said just come in after the job is done and they'll dock me payment the following week. But if it's more than one day they'll need a letter from the company.

Hopefully it brings me more work.
