    Hey ,

I urgently need someones help, i have a problem with the backlight on my acer laptop, but support won't entertain me without a serial number for my laptop, but on the sticker on the back, the number is all faded from the heat, i dont know what to do.

Does anyone know is it recorded in my pc somewhere!!??

the service tag wont be recorded anywhere else on the PC.

your best bet is to check any old emails you might have from your OEM for it. or, find the receipt from the purchase, or the bank statement as proof of purchase.

is there no way for you to reconstruct the number? how badly is it worn?

It could be recorded in the BIOS....

not sure about acers, but most laptops will have the service tags or serial number in the bios,

so plug in an external monitor, or look at the screen under bright light or sunlight to get the number in the bios

Start up your laptop and try tapping F2,this should bring you into the BIOS.
Serial number could/should be listed here.
