Sounds like it wants the songs in mp3 format.

At a guess, the files in your itunes library are AAC whereas your car radio only plays mp3 files.Itunes can convert files from one format to another but its a messy operation as you then have to delete the old AAC file to avoid getting mixed up as to which file is which format.Quite annoying problem. It forced me to get a new sony car radio because that can play both mp3 and aac files

Ah the evil face of the viral iTunes, god the number of times that program has caused problems for people is beyond belief, couldn't apple just give up on this crusade to force us to use the AAC format and just comply to the norm?

OP you will have to convert the files to mp3 as Zonda999 said above, but really shouldn't you just replace the iCrap with a decent player and be able to play on your car stereo as well as just load the music on to the player without having to use a propriety program.
