basically i met a lovely girl online (social website) about a month ago. (no, i do not have a problem meetign girls when out. i just joined for the craic) we started out just sending the odd email, which progressed to a daily email.

about 2 weeks ago we were going to meet up, but i was away one week and the next she wasn't in Dublin. We said we'd meet up next week, but now, basically i'm afriad to.

See i know i'm not unattractive, quite the opposite really (modesty is my thing, haha), i ahve no problem pulling, its just she hasnt seen majorly recent photos of me, and just i had a recent sporting injury, so i've put on weight.

so really, i'm just concerned that when she shes me she'll turn on her heel... i dunno, should i just meet up with her, or forget about it.

Just go for it she is every bit as nervous. I think you're more nervous of what she'll be like.

Ah go on don't worry about it. You say you're not a bad lookin fella ;_) a bit of weight isn't gonna put any decent girl off. Havin said that I go for the bulky types anyway but I'm sure it'll be fine. Sure there's not much point in avioding meeting her if you want to take things further. If she does turn and run due to a bit of weight after getting to know you online then she's not really girlfriend - or even friend - material anyway.

I met my OH online without ever seeing a pic of him met him in dublin one weekend and to be honest i was like ah what have i got myself into when i met him. he had the madest hair(afro is not the word for it) and some pretty dodgey clothes. but 2 years and a hair cut later everything all great going strong.

its worth the risk of meeting up you have nothing to lose and plenty to gain!

Pictures can be seriously SERIOUSLY misleading.

Go for it and don't worry. Of course you're gonna be nervous but I'd say you'd regret not meeting her. You might be a match made in heaven, and if not then maybe you'll have gotten yourself a new friend to meet for drinks.

Dude switch of you brain espechilly the part that makes you feel self contous, uve been emailing each other for how long im sorry but she obvously likes something about you other wise she wouldnt be emailing you,

chill the ebans uve put a bit of weight on every one does....I wish i could im as gangaley as golum..

I think its more your nervs that are playing with you which is good you obvously like her...

if anyones interested, we met up, and had the best time together.

shes gone off to Hungry for the next two weeks, so i dunno where that leaves me.. but we'll see!
