just curious has there even been any prop bets on boards? as ive never seen any. there fairly regular on 2+2. and i think theyd be a good interest. any volunteers?? they dont have to be as insane as some of the 1s on 2+2 just small 1s for an interest. ive heard they can be great for the person doing them in terms of staying focused, motivated etc. and they can take as little or as much action as they like

What about the one between Cardshark and Hollaments about the 100k play money hands? Did that ever happen?

I thought about doing some volume based one when I was on holidays last month coz I was bored, but I never bothered.

Ollyk1's mustard forum prop bet was somewhat humorous

Weirdest bet i ever made was when we me and my friend were thumbing home from a night out and we did an over/under on what year the car was that would pick us up

Thats still running, i think Mike M has to jump into HSP online before a date, seeing as he cash deepish in the ME, it might happen

The only good prop bets are ones that are spontaneous and offer unbelieveable value to the people taking up on the props.
HJ's crazy prop bet thread a good while back is the only good one i remember reading here.
Prop bets nowadays seem to be 50/50 60/40 edge...bah

There was one on HSP were they were debating the year of release of The Big Lebowski.
Howard Lederer and Gabe had a bet, and they picked 93 as the over under year, HL taking 92 or earlier.
Now thats tremendous value, I'd quite confidantly be betting the roll on that one (which of course isn't much to HL)

    Rounders would clean up there!

boards syndicate to gets Rounders on HSP where he folds every hand but busts all players on movie prop bets?

    You choose poorly!.
I told you im useless, im only good at remembering scenes from films. Useless at remembering names of actors in films and their real life names, year films were released etc.
I would have to suck out or stymie them whereby even if i lose i win and convince them of this afterwards.

    RasTa vs Rounders123, HU4rollz

    the subject; Seinfeld

I'd pay to be in the audience

    for the warm-up bout:

    YULETIRED vs Ollyk1/SWAR (tag-team)

no Mick is the man for mildly deranged prop bets involving the number of buttons on his shirt

(ollyk owned me at this, in retrospect setting the line at 18 buttons was a bit foolish on my behalf. Still and all, that shirt had a lottttttt of buttons....)

When in NYC, I was trying to persuade Mrs S to go on the Seinfeld Tour run by the dude who Kramer was (allegedly) based on. She refused. Worst beat I've taken all year by far. :(

Thats a bad beat. Didnt it occur to you to slip a mickey in her drink Costanza style?.

ah once you get married, slipping mickeys kind of goes out the window ;)

Yes, before the 2007 open we had a bet where we had to lose a stone each before kick off, if either or both failed to lose the weight the forfeit was to play the whole open in a dress.

Masters failed to lose the weight and welched, subsequently he got his Aces cracked on the Tv table by a guy dressed like Elvis so karmic retribution was quickly delivered. That day he was wearing a blazer and t shirt combo that looked worse than any dress tbh.

I still think he would have got great press from wearing the dress let alone kept his gamblers honour whilst providing the whole of Dublin with a good laugh, ah well he couldnt see the upside.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,212 ✭✭✭MrPillowTalk

Tried to initiate a similar bet with Lacey however he claims he wants to build up his muscle and despite being morbidly obese beleives he cant afford to lose a stone or four.

Agreed, but on the 'upside' we wouldn't have been treated to his sweat/wet t-shirt effort:p

you have to develop proper br management before the end of the year and stick to it for a whole day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,615 ✭✭✭Mr.Plough

Be happy to play anyone on this forum best of 15 at pool or best of 9 at snooker (excluding RQ4D, Mdwexford, Richielawlor or anyone related to flushdraw, would prob take digiman) at any odds. Loser plays 50k hands 0.05/0.10 full ring.

I'm heading that way anyway though

    not binding obv

You v MickSte and I'll come up with the questions. I am a monster movie geek and the man was snap answering some viciously tricky questions.

Edit: Just thought about this. A boards poker pub quiz would have to be the sickest pub quiz ever. Just getting the teams together would be immense.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves, we start by talking about the fine and noble act of prop betting and then all of a sudden it's "Oh goody let's have a table quiz, that would be swell". You might as well have a dick sucking contest imo.
