Looking for someone who can sing pretty well and play a bit of guitar,bass,keyboards,banjo........anything!! Male or Female this person needs to be committed and be able to practice at least twice a week until we are gigging (been let down before so really want someone who really wants to gig not just the idea of it!!).
Have a setlist of middle of the road stuff (nothing mad complicated!) pop, rock, trad, country etc. And also have backing tracks if needs be. Setlist is not set in stone and very open to change!
I play guitar, bass, drums and a tiny bit of keyboards myself and will chance some backing vox and maybe a few songs down the road!

Lots of good ads here but everyone seems to be based in Dublin! So ideally looking for someone in the (deep breath!)Portlaoise,Portarlington,Rathangan,Monasterevin,Kildare,Newbridge,Nass area or there abouts!

    Anyone interested post or PM
Thanks and sorry bout the essay!

Is it a full band or a 2 piece middle of the road thingy you're setting up? Have you p.a. / venues / contacts / experience?

Ye 2 piece for the moment but hoping to maybe in the long (loooooong!) term expand the size to do some weddings if things are going well. To be honest, at the moment i just want to get out and play some music have a bit of craic and get a few 'bob' for doing it, not trying to change the face of music or anything, but its hard to find the right people. Dont have a pa as yet but thats easily remedied. Have some experience and would have a good idea about the local venues.
    R u from the area?

    Hey There,

    Well there is two things I'm really pleased about;

1 ) somebody as eager as myself to get something up and running and not over complicated the idea of playing music with strong emphasis on commitment and having a laugh - Excellent!!

    2) I seem to be right in the middle of all of the locations you called out, I live on the kilfare laois border.

i have been playing guitar for 6 years now, love to sing too but have to know the tune and give it a listen a good few times before I try to thrash it out on the guitar.

Look forward to your response - PM me and we can exchange contact details.

    all the best,
    Ready to Rock

What kind of music do you play?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 187 ✭✭crazy chester

Just middle of the road stuff. Country, trad, pop, rock a bit of a wide range. What do you play yourself (instrument wise)? Can you sing? Where you based?

I'm in Portlaoise, and play lead/rhytm guitar. I mostly play oldschool rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but i can also play pop or some stuff like that.
