HORSE Sport Ireland Team Manager Robert Splaine this afternoon (Monday) confirmed his squad from which he will pick the Aga Khan Team to represent Ireland at the Failte Ireland Dublin Horse Show next month.

Ireland's squad for Dublin, from which four will be selected to compete in the team is, in alphabetical order:

    Edward Doyle; Sequoyah Farms Utopia
    Jessica Kurten; Castle Forbes Libertina
    Denis Lynch; Nabab's Son
    Eddie Macken; First Tedechine Sept
    Cian O'Connor; Complete or Rancorrado

The squad sees two changes from the last round in Hickstead, with Edward Doyle and Jessica Kurten replacing Marion Hughes and Capt. David O'Brien.

Robert Splaine said this afternoon: "I am fortunate to be able to call on five very experienced riders with horses who can perform at this level. This is a vital Nations Cup for us, not just because it's the Aga Khan but also due to our position in the Super League. Put simply this is a competition we need to win."

The competition for the Aga Khan Trophy will also be the penultimate leg of the 2008 Samsung Super League. Ireland currently lies in seventh position in the eight-nation Samsung Super League rankings. Dublin's competition will be followed by the Final in Barcelona, Spain on September 21.
