Changes in lenses to Higehr Index

I've just got new glasses and the lenses are now 1.74 Index. My previous pair were something around 1.64 . I'm myopic and use a strong prescription.

I'm finding that objects near to me are appearing slimmer but not shorter eg a bottle would seem to be slim but the same height as usual.

My prescription has changed slightly but I got a pair of sunglasses as well with lower index lenses and they don't seem to be causing the same problem.

I'm used to the fact that getting new specs leads to a period of adjustment but this is the first time i've seen this effect.

I can't say that I have noticed this at all.
I have a semi strong prescription and 1.74 high index lenses too.
Maybe they messed the prescription up a bit?

Myopic prescriptions in general make objects look smaller. Thicker lenses more so. As a result as the same prescription will be thinner in a 1.74 index lens as opposed to a 1.6 or 1.67 les they will not appear as small
