Bravo Company awaits for their next orders for a recon mission, having survived its first trial by fire; whilst scoping out a roadside firefight, they watch in shock as a regimental combat team arrives with guns blaring, and they watch on as the hamlet is obliterated; Encino Man requests an artillery strike on a phantom RPG team; Fick tries to take control of a dangerous situation; Ferrando issues a new, more urgent order shortly after Alpha Company shells Ar Rifa.

    Next one showing tonight

Another good episode I thought. Dunno if they are needed but
The reporter seems very quiet, doesn't really engage with the Marines in any kind of questions or 'reporting', he just looks and writes down stuff.
The standoff between Marines and Godfather over the injured civilian boy was good, and Captain America is awesome as usual. Can't wait for the blowup involving him when he pushes it one step too far.

What day does it air in the states?

I didn't engage with this episode as much and I'm not sure why. There was some good moments in it - I liked the way they handled the civilian situation - but overall I can't quite put my finger on it. Captain America is a Class-A amusing moron...

Can anyone figure out the command structure in this thing? What is it - Godfather is in charge of a battalion, which comprises a number of companies - how many? And our guys are in Bravo Company, which is led by Captain America? And Hitman and Hitman2 command individual platoons within these companies - Bravo1-3?

Edit: There's a good overview on the HBO site, although I'm still not sure exactly how the chain of command and ranking system works.

I was asking that in another thread. I can find how the command structure works and because of that I'm finding it hard goinf in some places

Might try posting on televisionwithoutpity - there's a thread there dedicated to marine terminology with postings by some people who were involved in some of the conflicts in the show (not with Bravo company though).

I'm not an expert on this, but this is what I've gathered from watching it.
Godfather is in command of First Recon, Patterson and Encino Man are in charge of Alpha and Bravo Companies of First Recon respectively.

Captain America is in charge of Bravo Platoon 3, while Nate is in charge of Bravo Platoon 2.
Nate is Hitman actual, in charge of x amount of squads. The leaders of those squads e.g. Brad, are Hitman X.

The likes of John Sixta are higher up the chain of command than Nate, but not actually directly responsible for any people.

best episode so far which was important as the next ep is the half way mark. Ziggy is still my favourite (and prob most peoples) character and probably will be the whole way through.

I don't have too much trouble with the chain of command but recognising the person who is speaking is causing me problems. There are about 3 or 4 who look near identical when they wear their helmets.

Person and Colbert are my favourite characters. Colbert was quite funny in this weeks episode. The clips below feature the real characters as well as the actors of Person and Colbert.

Your man Nate Fick has his own book out too.

generation kill website has a good a-z glossery describing the characters, their place in the command structure and what the hell they are talking about half the time.
