I got a new Acer laptop the other day, and now i cant get any channels on my tv, even when i put in a video, the tv screen is still blank. I get my tv channels from NTL, and the internet is provided by them as well.I thought it strange that only since i got the laptop this has happened to my tv? Would the laptop be causing the problem?.

The frequencies that NTL use for Broadband, TV and phone are all completely different so there shouldn't be a problem there. Are you sure your TV is working ok?

Did you try hooking your laptop up to the TV? If so you might have left it on an input selection that appears blank when the computer isn't hooked up.

Buying a laptop wouldn't affect your TV. Did you just order the broadband when you got the laptop?

Call NTL/Chorus on 1908 and ask them are there any problems with your service.

I honestly don't see how a laptop could interfere with a TV, unless you have some kind of wireless TV sender thingy - the Wifi on the laptop may be on the same 2.4Ghz band as the sender.

Other than that, there is nothing that could interfere with the TV.

Did you try plugging the laptop into the TV or anything? If so, cables may have become misplaced/moved.

that would seem odd, but sure, get to the router settings and change to a different 2.4ghz channel and that will rule that out.

I have broadband a while now, i had an old pc that was giving me trouble, so when it finally stoped working i got the laptop, and the guy who installed it just pluged the lead from the laptop into the cable modem.
