It was a good day and Ed Joyce captains the winning team.

Is it possible for Joyce to re-declare for Ireland?

I can only dream of a batting line up of Joyce, Porterfield, Morgan and O'Brien in the 20/20 world cup. :)

That's a good question but I'd have to say that "when you make your bed, you need to lie on it!" I think we have 11 others that deserve their day in the sunshine. Joyce can always stake a claim for England's T20 team!:)

I would imagine that for Joyce to play for Ireland again he would have to go thru the 4 year residential period, which is unlikely to happen while he is still playing at Middlesex, meaning he most likely wouldnt be able to play for Ireland again until 4 years after he retires from county cricket. As much as Id love to see him back, I think the squad we have at the moment for the Twenty20 world cup is quite strong, especially in the batting dept, all we need is the a couple of decent bowlers.

Ed is entitled to play for Ireland four years after his last appearance for England. There is no residency requirement.

His last appearance for England was during the last world cup. This means that depending on what time of the year the next world cup is held, Ed may be eligible to play for Ireland.

If he did decide to play for Ireland again at the WC, would that mean that he would forfeit his qualification to play for England again until he goes thru another 4 year residency?
