if your period is due now,its highely unlikely that you would be pregnant

    http://www.firstresponse.com/earlyPregTest.asp

There are tests which can be used 5 days before the date your period is due.
Did you check the condom was intact and didnt' burst ?
Did you use any other form of contraception ?

If you are really concerned you can go and get Emergency Contraception
    http://www.ifpa.ie/contraception/emergency.html#epills
    Emergency Contraception Pills (ECP)

Emergency contraceptive pills contain a progestogen hormone which is similar to the natural progesterone women produce in their ovaries. The pills should be taken within three days (72 hours) of having unprotected sex.

ECPs may stop ovulation, or fertilisation of an egg, or stop a fertilised egg from implanting in the womb. The ECP stops a pregnancy before it is established. It does not work if you are already pregnant. Medical research and legal judgement are quite clear that emergency contraception (the pill or an IUD) prevents pregnancy and is not abortion.

    How do I take them?
Emergency Contraception Pills come in a packet of two. Take the two tablets at the same time as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours, and no later than 72 hours (3 days) after you have had unprotected sex.Swallow each tablet whole, with water if necessary. Do not delay taking the tablets. The tablets work better the sooner you take them after having unprotected sex.

    How effective are emergency pills?
Of the pregnancies that could be expected to have occurred if no emergency contraception had been used the emergency pill will prevent:

    * Up to 95% if taken within 24 hours
    * Up to 85% if taken between 25-48 hours
    * Up to 58% if taken between 49-72 hours.

So as you can see the earlier they are taken the more effective the ECPs are and most effective if the pills are taken within 24 hours. They do not work if you:

    * take the pills more than 72 hours after unprotected sex
    * vomit within three hours after taking the pills
    * don't take the pills as instructed
    * have had unprotected sex at another time, either since your last period or since taking the pills.

Emergency Contraception Pills are not as effective as other forms to contraception such as the pill or condoms used regularly and do not protect you against sexually transmitted infections.

when i went to the family planning clinic to get the morning after pill after unprotected sex when my period was due,the doctor there nearly bit my head off telling me there is no way i could be pregnant when my period was due,i insisted on getting it though.
if you are really worried you could go to the ifpa in cathal brugha street or in the square tallaght, between 2 and 5 on a sunday and get the morning after pill, its about 52euro or 42 euro if your a student.

Have you considered getting the morning after pill?

How old are you if you don't mind me asking? In future maybe think about using another form of protection aswell. It'll put your mind at ease.

Try not to worry too much. If your period is due soon then the chances are pretty slim, this doesn't mean it can't happen though, so do think about the morning after pill.

    Best of luck:)

The OP might not be from Dublin though.

OP, why are you so scared? Did the condom split or something?

Stressing yourself out might delay your period so calm down and think about this - do you really have a reason to worry about conception occurring when you used protection, or is your imagination running wild and causing you to think irrational, unjustified thoughts?

op, from my reading of it i think last night was your first time ever (correct me if im wrong) so i think dudess is right about your imagination taking off. for my first time, we used a condom, i still took the morning after pill, and lived on a knife edge til i had 2 periods after it. (didnt enter my head do a pregnancy test, dont know why really)

anyway, my point is its easy to work yourself up into a tizzy over this.

if you used a condom and it didnt tear and youre nearly due your period, its very unlikely youre pregnant.

not silly at all girl, an understandable worry. one piece of advice - if youre going to be having sex regularly you might want to think about going on the pill. have a chat with your gp

good to hear you got your period,i think most girls panic a bit after their first time, thinking they might be pregnant.definately try sorting out contraception for yourself aswell as using a condom,it'll save you worrying yourself sick again

For peace of mind you might want to investigate taking the pill.

An alternative is to monitor your cycle (i.e. when you are fertile), continue using condoms, and avoid sex during the week you are at risk.

What you're going through is normal. It never really goes away :) but it does get easier.
