I've a soft spot for anything Yeti-ish so here's some possibly exciting news!
Scientists in the UK who have examined hairs claimed to belong to a yeti in India say that an initial series of tests have proved inconclusive.

Ape expert Ian Redmond says the hairs bear a "startling resemblance" to similar hairs collected by Everest conqueror Sir Edmund Hillary.

He told the BBC the Indian hairs are "potentially very exciting".

After extensive microscope examinations, the hairs will now be sent to separate labs for DNA analysis.

Read about this on disclose.tv Seems too good to be true. More than likely a publicity stunt for their site/area of work.

Yeah, possibly looking for a grant renewal or something. I'll be keeping an eye out for any updates on this though.

I thought DNA tests were more or less conclusive. as in the sample will be useful or not, so if you carryout the test bingo, you have an answer one way or the other, or you need a new sample.

I bet you the test will prove inconclusive . They did another test on a hair that had a pholical attached. The closest they could match it too was Human.

They haven't done DNA tests yet, they've just examined them under a microscope to see if they resemble any of the obvious non-Yeti candidates.

For a DNA test to be conclusive I'd imagine they would need a confirmed sample from a yeti to compare against.

Although it would still be interesting if they could say that the sample didn't match anything known.
