Help! Waterford venue

I don't know the area well, so I need some help.

I'm having a small, intimate wedding of about 40 guests in March. I don't need a huge 120-capacity hotel venue (and can't afford it -- we have a very tight budget, hence the small guest list). I'm looking for something small and intimate that will a) have room for a dance floor; b) have options for menus and wine lists; and c) most importantly, cheap.

    Somewhere in Waterford city.

Help, please? I don't have much time. :/ Just somewhere that looks pretty and will allow me to decorate (I want candles, lots of candles...). Surely there's somewhere...

Have you contacted any hotels yet?

The Tower or Dooley's would be a first guess.

    Hi.
waterford manor is a nice country house hotel just outside the city, fantastic landscaped gardens and only do one wedding a day so the venue would be all yours. Atheanum house hotel is on the ferrybank side of the city, smaller venue though i havnt been inside it. Faithlegg house hotel can cater for small groups in a stately setting. Most of the city centre hotels, days hotel, the tower, woodlands, dooleys all cater for smaller groups. word of warning, none of the city centre hotels have a very modern function room (imo) but yes most of them will allow you to decorate it in your own style. it really is a good idea to go visit for yourself as you will get a good/bad feeling as soon as you walk into the room. best of luck

Done two weddings at Faithlegg but that might be a tad bit over the top for you. Great location tho!!

I was involved with another wedding that had their reception at Waterford Castle and that was pretty intimater, probably worth checking that out too!!

    Good luck in the search.

Dont forget to post on weddingsonlie.ie as you will get a lot more responses there.

Hi there, I did a wedding in the Atheneum hotel a month ago.
From what you are describing, this place fits the bill.;)

The Waterford Manor Hotel seems to tick all the right boxes. Very popular place for weddings. (See: Waterford Manor Hotel Weddings section)

    Hope that helps...
