Firstly both my parents are teachers, i live at home which is a five min walk to the college. I'm starting a new degree course this Sep and was wondering if i would possibly be entitled to any sort of mature student grant?

    Anyone with any info? Thanks

ps I've been in college already, i got a pass diploma(cert) then dropped out in 3rd year

you may be entitled to back to education allowance, if you have been on JA or JB. Have you used up all of your Local Authority Grant during your past time in college?

I am in a similar position as the OP but i won't receive a euro when i return in September ... and because i started the final year but never completed it i am also liable for the tuition fees for the time i had previously attended (eventhough i never sat an exam) ... it should be worth it though :)

You are entitled to a maintenance grant from your local authority if you pass the means test

also JA = Jobseekers Allowance JB = Jobseekers Benefit. If you were claiming Social Welfare you'd perhaps be entitled to claim the back to education allowance
