    Does one exist?

I don't usually wear foundation during the day as my skin can get quite greasy and ends up really spotty after a week of constantly wearing some. But seeing as I am starting a course in Beauty Therapy I need to get my ass in gear and start wearing make up again!

I have finally found a good non-greasy moisturiser that suits my skin and now I need a good foundation that is non greasy but isn't mad expensive?

    Any ideas?

have you tried maybelline's dream matte mousse? s'lovely. well i thought it was, until i started getting horribly dry skin, turns out mousse foundation makes dry skin drier, might be better on grease-prone skin

I know you said you're looking for an inexpensive one, but foundation is the one thing that is really really worth spending a bit of money on.

Most make-up brands Mac, Prescriptives, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Clinique etc will have a specific foundation for oily skin. Try having a look at a few of their websites and seeing which brands make foundation which is suitable for your skin type. Then go into a department store like Brown Thomas and ask at the counters for samples so you can test out the colour and coverage for a few days without shelling out a lot of money for something that isn't right for you.

In general though I don't think foundation lasts the whole day for many people - most will need to do a touch up to keep it looking fresh

I have tried Clinique and Mac so far but no joy.

I wouldnt class either of these to be expensive (I was thinking over the €40 mark)

I never thought of getting samples, would many of the counters give out samples for the specific non greasy foundations?

I hate their make up with a passion! I bought mascara, foundation, eyeshadows etc at various times and I found each one to be crap!

I have always used Max Factor for their mascara and I swear by it! But as for their foundation, its a no go for me.

I just remember that I used to use Vichy foundation years ago, cant remember the name of it but it was perfect for my skin but of course they discontinued it

Yeh most counters in Brown Thomas will do samples. I have oily skin myself and I use a Prescriptives Virtual Matte foundation but before I bought it the girl at the counter gave me a few different samples to try at home. Everyone is different though so what works for me, might not work for you :o

You could probably get an oil-reducing powder to set the foundation which might help, something like Mac Blot Powder?

There's so good advice listed here too: http://beaut.ie/blog/?p=406

It's not the makeup that's necessarily greasy, it's probably your skin.

Use a primer - I love MAC prep & prime or No.7 redness reducing base. Seal the foundation with pressed powder like MAC studiofix blotting powder.

As it's so humid at the moment i've been using my Bare Esscentuals mineral makeup but I recently discovered Boots 17 "pure finish mineral foundation" http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1093957&classificationid=1045271&slmRefer=000

It's really good and quick to apply although I do need to re-apply once a day. It doesn't cake though.

I have tried the Mac studio fix foundation and powder but it was usless on my skin.

And yea you are right, it is my skin that is greasy hence I need to find a good foundation for it!!

Anyone else have oily skin and have found a good foundation?

I don't know if this will help you at all but a friend of mine has very greasy skin and she has started using what I'm nearly sure is Armani make up. She got it BTs so maybe if you go in and ask them. She finds it the best ever and at this stage she has tried pretty much every make up on the market. Sorry for being so vague.

I have never tried that Vichy foundation, but have you considered using a Minerals foundation?
My skin can go from oily to extremely dry and flaky within a few days, and is extremely sensitive, but since I started using minerals foundation I have been having a lot less problems with it.
I am using the Maybelline one at the moment (http://www.maybelline.co.uk/WHAT_S_NEW/Pure_Mineral.aspx) and find it very good.

Try the minerals powder foundations then. MAC also make a liquid mineral foundation now but I haven't tried it.

My face is like an oil slick if I don't use primer! :)

Make sure you leave your moisturiser on for a few mins before applying foundation or it'll make it more greasy. Also, make sure you aren't using too much moisturiser. A primer is great for keeping foundation on, try Smashbox's.

Make sure you use a foundation which is non comedogenic which means it won't block your pores and make you even greasier.

I second the Smashbox primer, the one for oily skin. http://http://www.smashbox.com/PHOTO-FINISH-FOUNDATION-PRIMER-LIGHT

Also, have you looked at what skincare you are using? Maybe change that as well as it maybe causing you to have excess amounts of oil on your skin. Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise your skin. It may help.

Its not my skincare as I have finally found a regime that really suits my skin and controls the oil/grease..

I will definitely check out the smashbox primer, anyone know offhand where you can buy that online at a good price?

I find Revlon colourstay great for oily skin. The one for combination skin is oil free- and i find therefore does not clog pores/cause spots unlike greasy foundations. ITs 17.50e so reasonable too.
