Ear Wax

Can anyone advise how to get rid of excessive ear wax?
I've tried ear drops, to no avail. The doctor says I don't need my ears syringed as there isn't a build up of wax in the canals.
However, when I swallow I can hear a sort of 'click' sound in my left ear. And every few days my cue tips get covered in a brown wax when I clean my left ear.
i am very self conscious about it.

Firstly stop using the cotton buds, they are pushing wax down the canal. you obviously have soft wax in your ears if you're hearing a click when you swallow.

Try putting in a drop of olive oil and put a cotton wool ball into the exterior part of your ear to stop the oil from running down your neck. Best to do this at night. Your ears will be itchy for a a few days so don't be tempted to poke around with a cotton bud

The ear is self cleaning and if your doc says there is no wax in the canals then you are just going to have to wait it out. But def stop with the tips in the ears...

Everyone has wax in ears so dont be paranoid, its very unlikely it's visible from the outside. Unless you have hairy ears :)

edit: if you are really not happy after a while then try and get an apt with an ENT (Eye and Ear Hospital)

    You already asked this question.

If it's continuing to be that much of a problem, you should be asking your GP, not us.
