I've just installed AVG, having been exposed to virus attack, but having run a scan (with 3 threats detected) I'm still having problems. When I click on a Googled web-site I'm re-directed to a totally different site (smart-biz-search, or some such site). Can anyone help me eliminate this nuisance?

Or you using IE or Firefox?

In IE go to Tools and Manage Addons, disable anything there that you see as suspicious.

I'd suggest downloading Firefox, much safer, not prone to as many virus'.

Thank you Damo2k and stevire. I'm new to the boards routine and I see posts like mine have incurred the wrath of a particular moderator. But when you're literally picking your way around it takes a while to become accustomed to navigating your way. I'll take on board both of your suggestions. By the way what the heck are "stickies"?
