How old is the laptop?, what kind of laptop, inspiron? etc. size screen?

In most cases it is uneconomical to replace a broken laptop screen unless you happen to be able to get a donor machine with a working screen for free or very cheap.

+1, unless it's something newish worth a fair amount of cash it's probably not worth the bother. Sure we'll wait and see what the OP's lappy is like:)

Ah lads my name is conceited not op ;)
It's 1 years old and it cost 1700 .I think it's an and the screen size is large around 17-19 .
What prices do screen cost in your experience.

We can't give you prices until you tell us what the laptop is. Is it an xps? inspiron? latitude? vostro? 17 inch, 19 inch, 15.4 inch?. While you're at it give us the spec of your laptop too. ie, processor type and speed, graphics card, hd size, ram.

If its a Dell just post up the service tag and we can go look up all the specs in detail on their site.

There's a crowd in Macroom called Etek that repair laptops, thought it was a bit expensive at the time but thinking back maybe not that bad.... Quoted me 250 to supply and fit a screen for my Dell Inspiron 6400 last year, 15.4" widescreen.
The laptop cost barely over 500 new so wasn't worth it but in fairness when I told them I was badly stuck they were sound out and lent me a flat panel monitor to plug into it for 2 weeks at no charge.

Conceited, go here and enter your service tag. Its on the bottom of your Laptop.

It should tell you how much of your warrenty if left, if any.

I also refer you to this little gem!

They won't cover a cracked screen under warranty as that has clearly been damaged.
