How to buy Microsoft Points online or through Xbox?

    Is this possible?

I've tried on the Xbox, but after I enter in all my details (CC number, address, etc), it doesn't work.

I also tried on http://points.microsoft.com There's a link to a Zune related site that sells Microsoft Points, but it says it's not available in my region.

I've also tried gamepointsnow.com, but it says the 2100 Points is out of stock. I'm guessing if I order from Zavvi, I'll have to wait to get them in the post?

Any other options for me to buy 800 points now?

Go to www.xbox.com and login with your gamertag.
Go to "My Xbox" and then Manage Profile. Then go to Add Points and you will be asked for your credit card. try it that way

I've tried that there, and I get "Your credit card information is not valid. Please verify and try again." although I'm able to use it on all other websites.

I've checked and double-checked my details but it doesn't seem to work. Would support be of much help if I contacted them?

I'd be wary about using my credit card to purchase anything on a microsoft site. It took me months to cancel my live subscription. Support kept saying it was cancelled but lo and behold they'd charge me again the next month.

Anyway, I've used the site below for xbox live membership with no trouble - they sell points too - its all done via email so its dead handy.

Have the extact same problem. Cant buy points on line as its saying my CC is invalid - even though the charge me every month for XBL subs. I was onto support about 5 times and last time they said it was a problem with the Internet provider and that they need to open up some switch or something. I got bored at that stage and bought them off game stop instead.
    Its a strange one!

This is a problem with MS - they invalidated a ton of accounts after some sort of security audit. So if your credit card didnt have the correct address or phone number (!) associated with it, your account is blocked (no matter what card you use or if you change cards).

I was on to support and they couldnt sort it, according to support it was all fine - I ended up informing the support girl about the problem - still couldnt get it fixed. About 2 months later a MS support guy rang my mobile saying that it was all sorted now and after about 8 months I could once again by MS points

Thats the thing... My CC has always been the same for the last year, correct address, correct details etc etc. They charge me every month using the card, but I cant buy points online from them!

Use cash and pick up a card in Game or simlar instead.

I used http://www.definiteplay.co.uk/ recently - and when the exchange rate from Sterling to Euro was taken into account I still saved about €10.

The code gets e-mailed to you really quickly (usually within the hour), you save money and you can't accidentally scratch off part of the code :D ... win-win
