Is it possible i'm pregnant??

In the early hours of Sunday morning (week and half ago), I had intercourse. The condom slipped off and we didn't notice until some stage later. I don't think he ejaculated into me but there was a bit of semen on him as the inside of the condom was wet.

I had started late on the pill this month (by about 2 or three days) and think I forgot one or two during this month also.
Going on what I've been told… ovulation was due that weekend… Saturday.. Sunday… Monday.. I'm not sure which day (Last period began on 1st/2nd july and usually 28 day cycle but assume period will take longer to arrive this time as I started taking the pill a few days late)

I got the Morning After Pill about 12 hours after the incident… but I'm still not assured that I'll be free of pregnancy given the ovulation dates etc…

Also, I read that the morning after pill might not work or work as effectively if you have a malabsorption disease. I have suffered over and over Vitimen B12 deficiency. B12 is not being transported to where it should be in my body. I had to take Injections. I assume the level is fine at the moment. I took four injections over four week and finished that about a month ago.

My period is not due til possibly Tuesday or Wednesday of next week if I finish the pill on Friday coming.

This whole idea is really worrying me. I've always had a fear of pregnancy and it seems to get worse over time. I am a born worrier and I know this will be right up there on my mind til I'm reassured!!!

    HELP!!!

if you had sex, then, yes it's possible. Is it probable? Probably not, but me saying it's not probable doesn't mean you aren't. Get a test done.

    Go talk to your dr.

THe fact that you've taken the morning after pill probably means that you're not but I'd still go to the gp if you don't get your period next week. I'd be more worried about my body if I was you - you're not taking the pill properly then flooding your body with extra hormones from the morning after pill.

    If I was a gambling man (and I am) I'd bet €250 to €1 that you're not.

You're probably not, but only a proper test can confirm that.

And as a previous poster pointed out, you need to improve your pill-taking habits. It's not hard to take it correctly, and the repercussions of not doing so are rather serious.

If you find taking a pill regularly to be a hard thing to do, then you should talk to your GP about other contraception options.

you probably aren't and believe it or not worrying will stall your aunt flo from coming due to stress. Take a test a week after your missed period. this will tell you.

For what its worth i doubt u are(speculation)

look at the stats. the likelihood of getting preggy during that point in our cycle. now guess how effective your misuse of the pill was, lets say 50% and then remember the maps effective rate. by the end of doing all that maths you'll see the chances are very unlikely. thats what a nurse in the family planning place did for me after a condom broke during the first few days of having the implant put in. put me right at ease. maths are your friend.
theres still a chance but you'd have to be pretty unlucky considering everything.

Never heard malabsorption could affect the morning after pill, I have that problem and never was warned by any of my specalists about any of the meds I'm taking.

I'd second the there's tons of options for birth control: injections, coil, patch and more! Life can be stressful enough without worrying about if you've taken your pill!

    Yes it's possible.

Get a pregnancy test when your period is due... wait didn't i type this exact thing in another thread...

Go to doctor. I'd also recommend a book on the facts of life. Osbourne do a nice one with pictures.

exactly. starting your pill 'a few days late' and then 'missing one or two' is not sensibe actions for someone who does not want to get pregnant. Having taken the morning after pill your probably not but wait and see what happens next week. It will be a long wait and no doubt you will worry but all you can do is wait and see really. The irony is had you taken the pill properly you would not have needed the Morning after one. Im not lecturing its just a method of contraception like the implant or injection might work better for you as it doesnt need to be taken every day

Well Op Im not going to criticise your actions - you were using a condom while on the pill which means you were trying to be doubly safe - you wouldnt believe the amount of girls out there that dont take the pill correctly and do not use a condom (which is quite stupid).

But Op that doesnt mean you are not pregnant - you will need to take a test to put yourself at ease. (chances of you being pregnant after taking the mornign after pill are slim but i know how you feel - you wont settle until your period comes)

I find that if you do your makeup everymorning without fail then why not put your pill into your makeup case - hence you will remember every morning! I for one wouldnt leave the house without my makeup so i would be assured that i would remember it. If you cant do this then as Dudara stated you need to look at other means of contraception.

Good luck to you and fingers crossed you are not pregnant because in my eyes using a condom and taking the pill you dont deserve for this to happen to you!

If you took the morning after pill 12 hours later you should be ok as its effective up to 72 hours, try not to worry about it as theres nothing you can do until you know for sure, but you took the morning after pill and he didn't come so your probley alright;)

I read a statistic recently that if 1000 women had unprotected sex in the middle two weeks of their cycle, 80 would get pregnant*. The chances of you even ovulating after you missed a pill are slim in the first place. Finally, the MAP is ~89% effective. So even if you were unlucky enough to ovulate, there's a fairly low chance of fertilization occuring, and even if it did, the MAP would more than likely sort it out. You'd be very unlucky to be pregnant but it IS possible, so get a test if you're late.

Thats not very constuctive. Its unlikly that the OP is pregant and its obvious that she is very distressed, she can't take a test until she has missed a period or at least until she is closer to her period which is not till next week:rolleyes:

First off, having sex means that you could possible be pregnant, the only 100% way to prevent pregnancy is abstenince.

Apart from not being very good with taking your pill you did everything right OP.

    Use of condom - tick
Morning after pill when the condom slipped - tick.

Best bet, take a pregnancy test when you think you're period should be due. Be aware though that not taking your pill regularly will have an affect on when your period comes. Stress will also affect your period. AND the morning after pill might affect your period. Take as many tests as you feel you need to take to assure yourself you aren't pregnant.

Just to point out though, the morning after pill can create funny periods, making it not a very good indicator.

You may get a very late period from it, or an early one, it can vary, so get a test in a month regardless as your period will be a rubbish indicator now.

Happened to my girlfriend at the time, very odd timed periods afterwards, very unpredictable or delayed.
