I have a few wedding pictures to get printed. Where in Dublin is good for getting digital pictures developed/printed with enlargements and good quality. Is there a major difference in quality or price or outlet, prefereably CC or D15?

If you don't take up the offer from stcstc, I always find Harvey Norman at Airside Retail Park to be brilliant.
Excellent quality, great value & quick turnaround.

Personally, I prefer to use places that use Fuji.
Harvey Norman tend to have different prices in various stores, but Airside are very competitively priced.

I use fuji Pearl 290 with an epson 7800. the paper is more expensive than a lot of papers but so worth it

the quality is stunning, and as its pearl the prints are quite robust.

Got work done by Steve (stcstc) and it was top notch stuff. You cant beat being able to ask someone questions and get solid advice when it comes to something like printing.. No point taking a fantastic photograph and then getting a cheap print done...

    Covey

the prices were on my other site

i am in the process of developing the 360-dpi site and havent got round to adding prices etc yet

but they still are on the stephencrozier.com site

Gary (aka Shep) if i remember rightly the last time i met you, you had some prints done by GMS. I remember saying i could do as good for less than they charge.

@ stcstc:Can you post the prints? And is there a minimum order?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,262 ✭✭✭stcstc

    yes i can post prints

dont really have a min order, but i guess to make it worth while on postage you need to order a few bits, if that makes sense

Harvey Norman in Blanchardstown are really cheap - but you pay for what you get. Paper quality is fairly poor and colour rendition is dodgy. Some enlargements that i had done there recently were horrible such that I tore them up and have re-ordered from snapfish which i had previously gotten poster sized prints and found good (and really cheap - gloss only).

I still use Harvey Normans but not for anything important and if i can find something as handy with better quality I will ditch them. I used to use photostore in main shopping centre (upstairs) - they were great but now gone.

Other Harvey Norman stores may be different than my experience. I suspect if they are wedding pictures then you want something special. Lots of good recommendations for Steve Crozier (stcstc) here from time to time. May cost a little more but probably worth it for the personalised attention for something special.

    HTH.

    i've used ALDI. yeah, yeah - i'm a cheapskate.

the photos turned out fine. they were only small - 4x6. However, I also ordered a canvas - i think 10x18 or 12x18. turned out pretty good - just a pity that photo i sent off for printing was so lame:rolleyes:

when i registered i got a few free photos - i think i had to pay postage - but you can order about twenty small prints for about two euro postage so it gives you an idea of quality before you spend any serious money.

can anyone tell me what HDR stands for???? i want to eventually print a great photo (if i ever get one) in very 'widescreen' format and HDR seems to feature.
