Getting a new laptop, mainly need it for college, so not looking for high-def or super-gaming computers. Just one that runs fast and doesnt break ha! Whats the story with Dell Inspiron 1525? Any good? What are they like with after-care if there's any probs?

Keep an eye on the Dell Laptops Deal thread in the Biz / Consumer / Bargain Alerts forum. As it's a very long thread, start 4 or 5 pages from the end. Loads of advise there on getting a good deal if you're thinking of buying a Dell laptop. I'm afraid I don't know much about the 1525, but I'm looking myself and for the spec I need, (something more than a Celeron processor), the new Studio 15 was working out cheaper. :)

My experience with Inspirons is not good. Had 1501, and it drove me mad.

Got a Toshiba Satellite, dual core w/ 2GB RAM and 160GB Hard Drive about 12 months ago. Haven't looked back. And I wasn't charged an arm and a leg for it either (600 quid with a case)...

My honest opinion, stay away from Dell...

Well i disagree, my 6400 is 2 years old cost me 700 quid and is still going strong. OP, what kind of budget are you working off? Just so we can try and get some spec's for your lappy
