    Now that DTT is becoming a reality can I assume that the tv aerial i just bought for TG4 and TV3 will work with DTT. I was going to put 2 on chimney, 1 vhf and other uhf. I am in Clare and DTT is scheduled for Q2 in 2009. I only want to climb up on roof once!

    The only difference is the channels used by DTT. Which will change after Analogue Switch Off.

    so.. 3 climbs to roof. :) (well one aerial may do all the channels for your area, Maghera rather than Woodcock hill?)

    Satellite Dishes work even on the ground.

    help wanted - living in Galway - purchased 2 aerials - uhf and vhf and diplexer - connected all up and only getting 1 and 2 - nothing from the uhf aerial - have tried everything - ant idea's what i'm doing wrong. The aerials are pointing the right direction - as this is a chalet behind the main house and the channels are perfect in the main house. Aerials are purchased locally so are correct. Is there such thing as a faulty diplexer. All out of ideas at this stage. Also the two vhf channels are ghosting - how to i counteract this.? Thanks for any advice/help.!!

    Maybe a VHF radio diplexer
    Maybe you got the ports mixed
    I don't know. Try the UHF on it's own. Make sure you have the correct Polarity

    Are you part of Galway good for Maghera or Longford Mast?
    TV3 Cairn Hill (Co Longford) Channel 46 Polarity H
    TV3 Maghera (Co. Clare) Channel 66 Polarity H

    TG4 is same polarity but higher channel (49 & 68 I think).
     Bow tie Horizontal (H), front view, facing transmitter

    ><
    ><
    ><
    ><

    Yagi Horizontal side view

    |-*-'-'-'-'-'-'      -> to transmitter

    Birds eye view
    |_||_|_|_|_|     --> to transmitter
    | || | | | |

    Move the VHF aerial or change direction pointed, or the UHF is picking up VHF too(unplug it) and Diplexer is just a splitter. Ghost is a reflection or 2nd aerial feed.
