Seen what I think was a buzzard last friday in one of the fields that I hunt. He or she was feeding on a rabbit about 300 yards away, a couple of grey crows and magpies were anoying it. He flew down past were I was after 10 minutes. Wing span 2.5 to 3 feet either side. Have not seen him since..

    Excellent programme!
That is the perfect type of programme for us shooters to promote our sport, they could cover both hunting and target shooting nicely in one programme.

Would recommend a hawk walk to anyone, if you enjoy hunting with dogs you'll get even more from it. I would love to take it up but for the expense and time involved, not viable for most.

I know Tommy Byrne. He is a great falconer and knows his stuff.

Also lads, I used to be into ferretting and lamping , but due to all the building around the southside and lack of transport we had nowhere to hunt besides some land we had permission on in Wexford ,Im driving now and of course i wouldnt expect you to tell me where your land is but is there anywhere left to hunt along the east coast, a friend of mine travelled as far as waterford one night and got two rabbits, great conditions and great dogs....wouldnt be into that myself ..

thanks for the link. plenty of hunting around and land you just need to go out and get the permission. as for driving and getting fcuk all..thats part of it. i've often done a 5 hr round trip and not had so much as a sniff of a fox. thats part of the excitement of hunting you dont know what will happen from one minute to the next. if you have land in wexford get in your car and check it out, wexford is a great spot to hunt, never know it could be alive with quarry.
