Our 4 week old has thrush in her mouth and bottom. Cream from the doctor cleared up the bottom end but her mouth will not clear after two weeks on the medication perscribed by the doctor. Just woundering if anyone else has experience of this and how long it takes to clear. It didn't happen to nos. 1 or 2 so have no experience of it. Thanks.

I know medical advice can't be given, but this is more practical advice really... is she breastfeeding? Have you tried using an anti-fungal oral gel on the breasts? As there is a chance she's getting re-infected from there if you haven't. Obviously if you've ried that or are worried go back to your gp

    Hi Angeldelight,

she is bottle fed and we are very carfeful re. sterilisation. She is on an antifungal medication which is dropped into her mouth. The GP has seen her twice and is non plussed but I just get nervous about giving a newborn medication over a long period. Thanks for the help.
