Mr HM was having babies last week when I mentioned my last tetanus jab was almost 20 years ago. Because he is swimming non-stop at the moment, I'm finding myself in lakes and rivers quite a bit.

Off I trundled to the doc to get my jab, got hepA when I was there too.

The injections were fine and felt nothing for a few hours, went for a swim (ok, 2km of mostly pulling drills probably wasn't the best idea, nor were the military presses at lunchtime before the doc's) and last night my arms were a little tender.

This morning I feel like I have no humerous and my biceps have been replaced with lead!

Just thought I would share :-)

I have no sympathy for people complaining about injections. ;)

oops sorry. I do have impressive big red blobs though so although there is no air con in my office I'll have to wear my jacket all day. just call me sweaty betty!

I hate other people giving me injections too, it's quite normal. Although I did used to actually be quite fascinated whenever being given jabs years ago I cannot handle watching other people doing it to me anymore.

Isn't there something else in some of those jabs that actually numbs the muscle or something? Or it could just be due to them doing it into muscle that causes the extra "pain" after the event I guess.

I've now got what I believe is called a "low grade fever" in the side effects. I've a stinking headache, shivering like a pig (do pigs actually shiver?) and I'm grumpy as hell.

OK then, you can have some sympathy now. :)

    That doesn't sound pleasant.

Despite sore arms I had a cracking swim session after being shot up with typhoid and hepatitis vaccine earlier in the year.
