New ECW Championship Belt Design- Spoiler? Pictures anyway...

The ECW Championship belt has recieved an overhaul:

















I quite like it personally. I don't know whats up with the silver plates (or Platinum, as they'll no doubt be called) but I like the overall shape to the belt. Looks like an ROH/NWA kinda mix.

Certainly looks a ton better than the Barbie belt that they made recently.


I don't know if i prefer this over the old one or not though.



Fact is, they are distancing themselves more away from the old ECW now with this...





And thats not a bad thing... Thats a good thing!

Yeah, the lightining and the pheonix/flame-wings are a bit much, but overall I really like the look of the new belt. The old belt did nothing for me, and I feel no sorrow for the continued death of the original ECW.

I prefer the belts to have a bit of colour but I still think its a decent design.
It looks a bit bland with all the silver.

Kind of an admission of sorts to have the Raw and Smackdown belts gold and the ECW one silver. I like it anyway

I like the look of it. They could have had the phoenix or ECW in gold though to break it up a bit. But it certainly looks fresher than the old ECW belt.

It's white gold I think, not as valuable as platinum, but more valuble than silver.

A few things i thought when i first seen it:

I don't like it...

But under further inspection....
I like how many layers they have used, its nice to see it not being a solid flat belt.
I also like the fact its all a solid silver colour, it catches the light better than a gold one.
Shape of it is very nice, as KKV pointed out, it has a ROH feel.

Reasons to why i didn't like it at all:
The sideplates, They are TOO bulky, doesn't compliment the centerplate whatsoever.
I'm quite mixed on the flames design on the inside, but to be fair its a thing that WWE has never put on loads of things, flames.
The leather strap comes around from the buttons and just jumps up and around the belt, if it hadve been more like the IC belt i wouldn'tve cared...
The leather has no detail whatsoever! Not even good detailed stitching around the edges!


All in all, being a fan of the original ECW and accepting that it is dead, with absolutely no illusions that it is coming back, the new belt where it does look well, it still poses the question, why change it?

They redesigned the original ECW belt and made it their own? Why do it again so soon? And with no reason?!

Anythings better then that spinner crap, I don't know why they still have it, it was made for Cena and it says RAW on it they need to change it.

I'm pretty sure they changed it to SmackDown! now. But i like the spinner belt. Much nicer than the Undisputed. I'd be happy if they kept it.


Still not 100% sure why they changed the ECW Belt. I wish they would have done it at 'Mania. I'm a huge Kane fan, so if i was gonna get an ECW Replica, i now feel a little torn. The belt that my favourite wrestler wore, or the better looking belt that he didn't wear.


I think the change occurred because they wanted the belt to be a WWE: ECW belt, as opposed to just an ECW belt. (Notice it
says World Wrestling Entertainment above ECW? I don't think the old belt even had a WWE logo on it?).



Its a cool belt, but it would have been better as a whole new title on ECW. A cruiserweight title or something, as opposed to just replacing the existing design.

WWE.com did a 'photo shoot' with the belt. Much better pictures. Wish they'd do this for all the belts, really
