30-year Sax player here, although not a current sax owner.

Used to have a Selmer Paris MKVI, but I sold it one year during a poor period so's I could afford to go to the soup kitchen. :P

    sax-a-ma-phone (H. J. Simpson)

I love the sound of the sax. There used to be a session in the Dame Tavern on a Sunday night. Acoustic Guitar and singer, plus electric guitar and sax. Flippin great session. Made Monday difficult though.

I'd say they are plenty loud to practise on though. Do the neighbours complain?

wow... the Selmer Paris MKVI do you have it traditionally engraved?!I've got myself a evette buffet crampon :) nothin special but it does the job

its not that hard, as long as you have a good teacher to ease yourself into all the different buttons :P

    EDIT:
please never say saxamaphone again... it really isn't funny and you can only talk into it without the mouth piece... fact :P

I've loads of numbers, but these guys sure don't come cheap. There is a mercenary mentality for anything other than jazz gigs.

Despite the forum name, this seems to be mainly a 'Guitar 'n Bass' forum. Mind you 2 sax threads in the one day - perhaps the times they are a-changing? Keep it up folks!!

Doesn't this apply to every instrument?

Would be nice if they could separate out the guitar/bass/amp threads - there are other instruments!!!

I don't play sax but it's a great instrument & my boyfriend was a great clarinet player who bought a sax 5 years ago and I haven't got him to play it yet!
    (so disappointing...)

Then why isn't anyone posting about them? I dont think the instruments forum is big enough to even think about splitting it out by instrument type. There are many other sites out there that do just that.

But this little forum is different. :)

    I agree with Dord.

There's plenty of room here for people to post on all types of instruments and their accessories. :)
