Need advice on highlights

My hair is a mousy/dark blonde, and has had to suffer at my hands - semi-permanent dyes of red, purple, etc. It's almost all faded now (there's a slight tint of red to it still though). I want to get blonde highlights put in it when I come back from holiday. What I want to know is:
    1. How much do highlights roughly cost in Dublin?
    2. Do you think the sun/chlorine on holiday will get rid of the last bit of red (going for 2 weeks)?
    3. How long does getting highlights done normally take?
    4. Will they be able to do it even if the last little bit of red still hasn't faded from my hair?

    Please help!!
    Thanks :)

    Hiya,

    1. A full head of highlights is roughly 110- 150 depending on where you go and how long your hair is.

    2. The sun/chlorine is bad for your hair. Protect your hair with serums/conditioners and let your hairdresser change the colour.

    3. A full head takes about 2-3 hours including a cut.

    4. Yeah they can fix the red in your hair.

    Hope that helps :)

The cost varies but i got mine done recently and it cost 170 but it was a really good job.
I have really thick hair so it prob took longer then expected with me but it was over 2 hours by the time it was applied and then leaving it to soak into your hair and getting it washed out, i got a conditioning treatment thrown in after the dye was washed out so that added another 10 mins onto it then the blow drying etc....overall i was in there for over 3 hours and that was without a cut, but it varies depending on where you go.
