Help with a keyboard purchase

Hey, myself and my wife used to play piano when we were younger but neither of us has touched one for well over a decade at this point. I'd like to take it up again, ideally hoping to play piano/organ stuff, but we've only the space/money for a keyboard so I was wondering if people could give me advice on what to buy. The only keyboards I played as a kid were some cheap crappy Casio ones before my parents got a piano for the house, so I've no experience with the instrument and what would be a good choice.

I can't justify paying for an electric piano yet, but am equally slow to pick up a very cheap keyboard for the short term and am thinking more along the lines of a decent middle ground that we could get a good few years out of before feeling it's limitations too much (88 keys and some decent weight/feel to the keys etc?).

Any ideas? Budget is from 400-1000 roughly but I'd prefer to keep it in the lower end of that if possible.

Well I was well into piano when I was a kid/teenager too and we had a piano at home but I tried out lots of electronic keyboards whenever I had the opportunity. I always found Yamaha the best by far.

    I'd recommend something like this.

I've never actually played them though so can't tell you what they're like. But it's an 88 key graded hammer action entry level stage piano from a reputable company. Can't be all bad, and well within your price range. Korg, Roland etc. have stage pianos in the same price range.

I have the Yamha p-140 and it does the job.

Same situation as yourself nesf. Last year, I wanted to get back into it, but ended up spending my money elsewhere. I played this in Danfay Yamaha and thought it really was the sh1t. It has weighted touch-responsive keys and even through its speakers, it sounded rich and warm

My personal recommendation is the Roland ep-880 but its expensive and you dont get any sort of stand with it. Also the DGX-620 has been replaced by the DGX-630 now so you should be able to get a good deal from anyone selling a 620.

I had the DGX 500 something a few years back. It's not quite the same as the stage pianos, and it looks like a toy.
