Does anyone have any advise on where they think I should either get my make up done (in Dublin centre area) or recommend anywhere for a good make-up trial. I was thinking of just doing it myself - I've never taken a class but was thinking of going to a make-up counter in BT's and paying close attention!
Does it really make such a difference to get it done by a pro??

It will definitely make a difference going to someone who is trained or gettng a make-up lesson. They can match colours to suit your face etc. Also they can suggest make-up that won't effect the outcome of photographs- make-up can make your face look flat or too shiney. Also, it can be a relaxing part of your morning on the day.

I wouldn't really suggest getting a make-over as its just a quick demo of products. If you want to do your make-up yourself you are better getting a make up lesson - Make-up Forever and Brown Sugar do make-up lessons, along with many other places.

Or you could get your make-up done by a make-up artist. You would have a trial first and then on the day. You normall can make a deal with the artist and get bridemaids and mother of the bride package.

I know a few make-up artists if you want, you can PM me! Good Luck.

yeah I'm wary that any make over with the likes of MAC are just going to be selling off they're wares - if they're good or not.
I was lucky to get a free makeover in Arnotts with Guerlain. Does anyone use their products??
Fingers crossed she gives me some good tips! I'll try recreating it and if I have no joy I'll let the pros do it!

Guerlain were the first company to bring out the bronzer! Their bronzer is the only make-up I've used. Their skincare range is fab!

I got a make up lesson from the brand that I normally use, but I should state that I wear very little make up (I wore lipstick, eyeshaddow, mascarra and nailvarnish on the day, its a lot more than I normally wear)...it looked well for me but it might not be for everyone.

I can now highly recommend Guerlain - the make up looked flawless and very natural. Their skincare range is also great and the mositurisers and primers put on before the make up made a big difference to how my skin would normally feel the day after - as I don't normally wear makeup that often. Great experience and I'll be using them for the big day!!
