Well, the title says it all really! I've tried Maybelline, No.7, Rimmel and Cover Girl on my toenails and they all chip the minute I wear shoes with covered toes. Any recommendations for ones that won't chip (preferably that won't break the bank!)

I find rimmell good value for money... Nail varnish on toes chips, its a fact of life!! Just bring the bottle with you for touch ups if your that paranoid but imo no body notices as long as they look bright and freshly painted.

If you paint your toenails with a colour, then paint with a layer of clear nail varnish, it kind of seals the colour

Essie nailvarnish lasts a full week before it starts to chip... even longer with a good clear top coat.

I found one in a chemist around the corner from me a couple of weeks ago and it's really great. The brand is GOSH and it's about €8 from what I can remember. (Oh and the No. 75 colour is lovely:))

If you're using a strong colour you should put a base coat of clear nail polish on first anyway as it stops the stronger colour staining the nail. Then put the colour you want on,two coats is best, then the clear nail polish as a sealing top coat.
Rimmel is good (on toe nails at least) if you use the above method. Chanel nail polish is good too.

You should put on a base coat, then two thin layers of colour and then a clear top coat..

    Works for me most times..
