iPod in car kit- which is best (Alpine, Dice, Harman etc.)

    Hi,
    (if in wrong section sorry..)
    I'm looking for an iPod kit that will-
    a. play my iPod (duh)
    b. have a cradle to hold
    c. charge iPod- not essential but nice to have
    d. phone bluetooth function (not essential but nice to have)

    My info display unit-thingy in my car is broken so it doesn't matter if the unit displays details on this or not. Some kits have a seperate display unit and a control unit thingy.

    I don't know if this is essential- after all can't you mount the cradle near the steering wheel and just control from the iPod? Is it easier with seperate dispaly control unit?

    I'v been looking at a lot of kits and plan to buy 2nd hand from Ebay, Amazon etc.
    Systems I've looked at include:
    *Alpine ex-10
    *Dice FM RDS Universal Modulator
    *Harman/kardon Drive + Play 1/2
    *Belkin tunebase FM w/clearscan

    The Gateway 500 is too expensive.
    the Harman/kardon Drive + Play 1 is on Amazon very cheap (£26!)...The newer model (2) has more functionality but is a lot more expensive
    Anyone have any recommendations?

    Hi,

    I had the harmon kardon one, and it broke on me after a while? I'm actually making up my own one now, have a spare iphone dock, get one of those iTrips and away I go!
