English language requirements TCD

I am a Dutch student who has applied through CAO at Trinity College Dublin.
I did not provide a copy of an English language proficiency certificate with
my CAO application because I was told that my English grade (8 at VWO level) was sufficient evidence of my language proficiency.

Now TCD suddenly want me to take a test and sent in the results to CAO or them before the 11th otherwise I will not be considered for an offer. Problem is: sending the scores takes an apr. 15 businessdays according to the TOEFL centre

I applied to UK uni's as well and they never required me to take a test because my grade showed my proficiency. Are there any international students who face the same problem or got in without a IELS-TOEFL test?

I really don't know what to do now! I cant get a hold of them either, voicemail constantly! Maybe I am already on the big fat rejection pileeek3.gif

If the Admissions Office aren't taking your calls then try Hugh Sullivan, this year's education officer of the Student Union, by e-mail at education at tcdsu dot org or on his office line +353 1 646 8439. He may be able to get some answers for you.
