Problem with time on Dell xps m1210

I've had a Dell xps m1210 for about 18 months and I've always had a problem with the time on it. Its is always 8 hours behind. If I change it in Windows and then reboot it reverts back to -8 hours. I thought it was a BIOS issue so I changed the time in the BIOS and saved it but even then the BIOS reverts back to -8 hours after a reboot?? I updated the BIOS to the latest version a few months ago but the same thing kept happening. I've put up with this for ages but I really want to get it sorted now. Anyone got any ideas?

Have you checked the regional settings and moved the time to GMT?

if you have and also done the bios it might be the battery on the main board, there should be one that holds the values you assign on the bios screen.

I'm such an idiot! It was indeed the regional settings, for some reason it was on pacific time(-8:00). Cheers
