I went through an Asian movie phase a few years ago, and saw lots of really great stuff - Ichi, Battle Royale, Azumi, Infernal Affairs, the Ringu movies etc.

Having seen Machine Girl recently (ridiculous, but very funny and OTT), I'm interested in seeing what else I've missed.

Have any noteworthy movies come out in the last year or two that I should look up? The genre doesn't matter - don't care if its horror, samurai, violent/non-violent, drama, love story - as long as its fun or rewarding to watch, then I'm game.

Went to see Im A Cybord, But that's OK recently, i think its available on DVD now. great wee film.

There's always good Asian movies coming out.

Not sure if you've seen some of these already, but the films you mention are all a good few years ago at this stage, so try some of these ones:

Not a new film, but I don't see old boy in the list!
It's a brilliant film check it out.
I was disappointed by the host personally. Good enough but not nearly as good as the hype suggested.

luketitz: saw all those movies years ago when they came out (and I think Tom Yum Goong IS Warrior King, unless you mean another movie?)

Saw Old Boy (and the other 2 movies in the Vengeance trilogy) too.

As the thread title says, I'm looking for RECENT asian movies, kids.

I'm possibly being a bit overly pessimistic but the loss of Tartan will probably be affecting the availability of Asian films for the foreseeable future

Very different to the Vengeance trilogy but great in its own right. The film is stunning to look at from start to finish.
