Things can go wrong but it never has for me and I've used it a lot.

just create the backup it prompts you to and fire away. I exclude unused file extensions though as a matter of habit. everything else i nuke and ive had no fuss.

Just make sure you've got a backup of ALL your important files, no matter what you're doing, ccleaning or not :pac:.

And then nuke away, I use the registry cleaner the whole time, for a long while, don't use any exclusions, never back up the registry, no problems.

That said, create the backup if you want, use exclusions if you want, etc.

i have used it before to clean the registry but if you are looking to speed up your system this will not do it.
